Your shopping list and my costs are listed below:
1 (4 lb 12 oz) Box of Borax ($3.38)
1 (3 lb 7 oz) Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda ($3.24)
1 (3 lb) Container of OxyClean - This is optional but definitely a great idea! I got a 6lb container because I plan to use the rest to clean other things. ($8.00 for 6lbs, so $4.00)
2 (14.1 oz) Bars of Zote Soap - We used pink because that's all the store had. You can also use Fels Naptha ($2.58 for 2)
1 (4 lb) Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda - Obviously if you can't find this one, you can use 2 of the 2lb boxes. ($2.16)
1-2 (55 oz) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric Softener- Also optional but it will make your clothes smell good and feel very soft! ($4.76)
A large bucket to mix it all in. ($3.25)
A grater for shredding the Zote soap. I hear you can use a food processor if you have one, but we don't. I also hear do NOT try to use a blender *laughs* (I got 2 hand graters at the Dollar Tree so $2.00 for 2)
A spoon to mix it all up with was also purchased at the Dollar Tree so we didn't have to use one of our food spoons and possibly break it, so another $1.00 for that.
My Total Cost - $26.37
I've been told you only need 1-2 tablespoons (yes, TABLESPOONS) of this for a regular load of laundry and that if you do 6 loads a week it will last you a year! We do about 4 loads a week on average so it should last us about 18mos. Woo!

This only lasted about 10 minutes lol

Tote full o' pink cheese! Took us TWO HOURS to grate down 2 bars but it smells good lol

All mixed in the bucket. It's so pretty! Luci calls it Fairy Soap.

If you opted for the crystals, the bottle doubles as a nice small container to store it in. The cap's middle line is 2 Tablespoons, so that's handy!
