Luci's First Movie!

Luci and Grei made a stop animation movie with our little point and shoot camera, the previously opened Space Play Set (!!!!)  and "pez guy".  This stuff is serious awesomesauce.

Cleaning... Part 8,974

We've managed to accomplish quite a large bit of work in quite a short period of time. Our bedroom floor has been found, my clothes have been purged of things that no longer fit ( due to being TOO BIG! ^_^ ), my craft items have been contained in bins and quarantined to their own little corner, the kitchen table is no longer a safe haven for bags full of who knows what, the linen closet has been restored to order, Luci's homeschool things are contained to ONE corner of the living room, the fish tank is no longer a bizarre shade of green, we have a marvelous new entertainment center and two very lovely bookshelves for either side of it, all of the Yule/Christmas chaos has been unwrapped, unboxed and unplasticated, but still there is MESS everywhere! Another purge of Luci clothes/toys/miscellaneous crapitude must be undergone. Thankfully we have three and a half days before the hordes of family and friends descend upon us for  our New Year's Eve open house/potluck dinner that I so stupidly offered to host. Socialization is good... socialization is good... oh, who am I kidding?

David Bowie Dreams

I had another David Bowie dream last night. These happen every few weeks and usually it's just him popping over for tea or I run into him at the store or whatnot. This time I had to take his keys from him and drive him home because he was drunk. He is a pretty good drunk kisser in my dreams LOL   Anyway, we got carjacked by Charlie Sheen and Janis Joplin tried to buy his car from Charlie Sheen but then Bowie woke up and they realized who he was and apologized to both of us. After that, I drove Bowie home and had dinner with him and his wife and kids. Yep... totally normal lol

I asked Luci if she had a TARDIS and her response was "No, I need a Doctor kit first!"

So then I asked, "Luci, what is a TARDIS?" she says "I don't know!" so I ask, "Then how do you know you don't have one?" and Luci exclaims, "Because I'm not a Doctor!"

Pre-Ballet Class

Luci had her last class of the season this evening, and we got to watch. They did a little performance for us to 'Silver Bells' as well. The video for that is HERE.  She has to repeat pre-ballet again because she's only 4.5 but after the next session she can move into continuing pre-ballet. Also, if she doesn't miss more than 3 classes, she will get to dance on the stage the day after her birthday in the Spring performance!

Cinnamon Garlic Pork & Veggies

Tonight's dinner was super fast and easy. 2 bags of microwavable steamer veggies again along with pork stew meat, pre-minced garlic and a ton of cinnamon. Mmmmm tasty!

Mandarin beef Stir Fry

Mandarin beef stir fry
Beef, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, water chestnuts and garlic in mandarin sauce.

Prep time was about 15 minutes as prepared.
I used 2 bags of mixed vegetables in steamer bags, pre-minced garlic, pre-cut beef stew meat and Panda Express Mandarin Sauce.

This came out well and was quite tasty! The photo is of the portion I set aside for tomorrow's lunch since I forgot to snap a shot of our plates beforehand lol

Weigh In

Well, even going over my points by like 30 I still managed to lose .4lbs this week. It probably would have been a bit more but I didn't have a chance to go to the restroom beforehand and I had eaten about 15 minutes before the meeting. I decided to go to the morning meetings since they are at 10am and that will be closer to my actual ME weight as opposed to the eating all day long weight at the 5:30pm meeting.  But really, I think I should just look at my weight on my own scale at home first thing in the morning as my actual factual weight for my timeline. Yay for random babble.

I really need to get off my butt and exercise more. Once we get the living room re-organized I'll have room to exercise again. The house is sort of a wreck at the moment with boxes of stuff going to goodwill and tubs full of stuff to be gone through strewn about everywhere.  Still, going for a daily walk is something I do enjoy and I've been slacking on that even...

Goat Stew

Since I don't use recipes often, I've decided to start keeping a journal of the meals that turn out well so I can repeat the process. Also, it'll be handy for meal planning to look through photos to decide what we want to eat during the week! 

Goat meat*, garlic*, garlic pepper, onion*, potatoes*, celery*, carrots* and squash in a vegetable stock (before being cooked)

This turned out very well! Cooked for 8 hours on low, filled the crock pot halfway and gave us no leftovers.

Luci's Letter To Santa

I can't believe her penmanship here. Everyone I've shown it to can actually read it! Yay for improvement!

New Camera!

Finally, after waiting over two years for it, I got my Nikon D5100!
