Curlformers Try #1

I've been hearing great things about curlformers so I decided to go to Sally's and give them a try. They were really super simple to use and since it didn't take a lot of time (and no heat!) Luci didn't fuss much at all. We didn't let her hair dry fully and I only used a small amount of mousse on her hair. Next time we will let her hair dry completely and I'll probably use a spray gel on her hair before putting it into the curlers.

Sock Bun

After viewing this video, I decided to try this really quick. I must say that it worked out pretty nicely! This was super easy and fast and I think I'm going to do this a lot more often.

Here's a quick snap of my very fast side-bun. This literally took me like 20 seconds to do. Obviously it needs a little work tucking in the fly-aways and all that.  I'll probably do a better post of this style later in the week. I have a feeling it's going to be a stand-by for me

Kindergarten!

We have an officially enrolled kindergartener! The approval email came through today. Instead of doing traditional homeschooling we've decided to go through an online charter school. I think this will be far less stressful for us while still giving us the benefits of schooling at home. We are all so excited!

Strep Sickness

Miss Luci had a fever of 102 and was feeling like she was going to throw up over the weekend. Went to the doctor today and guess what she has? Strep throat. No shocker here. She feels fine today, just like I did, but her throat is bothering her. This is the first time either of us has been sick in nearly 5 years. Luci is going around telling everyone she has "strep sickness".  Oh, and another funny... when the doctor came in, she asked Luci how she was doing and Luci says "I'm somewhat frustrated." The doctor's face was priceless. Then she asked Luci why she was frustrated and Luci replies, "Because I don't quite feel well."  And that is what you get when you talk to your preschooler like the little person they are!

Miss Lulu has finally got to the stage where she is asking me to do different things with her hair. Before this it was difficult enough to wash and comb her hair. Even putting it in a bun was a fight sometimes. Today I did pigtail braids then crossed them over her head and pinned them in place. She loves the way they look and her dance teacher does too! :)

Mama is Sick...ish

I'm glad I decided to call the office to get an appointment when I did. Had I waited until tomorrow I likely wouldn't have gone in because I feel fine right now but I officially have strep throat. Yay for not having the zombie plague! The nurse only did a strep culture as a precaution, not expecting it to come back positive. The doctor was so surprised he said "shut the ff-...ront door " haha It totally does not look or act like strep, but he said that just means I must have a great immune system and it's a good thing I came in and got antibiotics instead of spreading it all around town. Considering I haven't been to the doctor for any reason other than a physical in the last 5 years, I'd say I'm doing great! The last time I was sick it was with ... strep that didn't act or look like strep *laughs* 

Bit O' Green Playdate!

Today we had a playdate with Luci's cousins and decided to do a St. Patty's day theme. A few other kids were supposed to come, but they all cancelled the last minute. That's okay because we all had lots of fun anyway!

Another Walk

It has been unseasonably warm lately. Usually this time of year calls for thunderstorms and highs in the low 40s to mid 50s, possibly even a blizzard. This week has been all highs in the upper 50s to low 70s even! It has been VERY nice weather and I'm slightly afraid to think about what this means for our Summers. Normally June feels like this and we rarely have more than a few days in a row of high 80s-low 90s all the way through August. I'm just enjoying this weather while it lasts. If it starts to creep past 75 degrees I get pretty whiny *laughs*  Anyway, after this morning's long walk we decided to go return our milk bottles and get more milk. We also had some iced tea and a muffin and Luci played with a bat on a suction cup.

Just another beautiful day

Rain Rain Go Away

Even though it was raining pretty good today, we still went on our walk. Everywhere we went Miss Lulu got compliments on her choice of attire. She wanted to wear JUST her cupcake dress up, wings and rain boots but (me being the tyrant that I am) I made her put on jeans, a tee shirt, a rain hat and a coat as well. Still, we had a lot of fun jumping in puddles.

Nothing Is Open! :(

We went for our walk around town today and nothing was open. Most shops around us are closed on Sundays. We did find a few places that were open but the camera batteries died on me so I couldn't show you what they are lol
